Free Jazz Hour: Jan 5, 2009
For last night’s show, we went back into good old-fashioned free jazz classics. A couple of tunes to remind us of (the recently deceased) Freddie Hubbard’s important contributions to the avant-garde:
- Ornette Coleman Double Quartet – Free Jazz – Free Jazz (First Take) (1961)
- John Coltrane – Interstellar Space – Mars (1974)
- John Coltrane – Interstellar Space – Venus (1974)
- Circle – Paris Concert – Duet / Lookout Farm (1971)
- Eric Dolphy – Outward Bound – G.W. (1960)
Listen to the archived show here (available until Jan 12, 2009).
